Alloy Wheels Manufacturing mode
There are three manufacturing methods of aluminum alloy hub: gravity casting, forging and low-pressure precision casting.
1. The gravity casting method uses the gravity to pour the aluminum alloy solution into the mold, after forming, it is processed and polished by the lathe, and the production can be completed. The manufacturing process is simple, does not need precision casting process, low cost and high production efficiency, but it is easy to produce bubbles (sand holes), uneven density, and insufficient surface smoothness. Geely has quite a number of models equipped with wheels produced in this way, mainly the early models. New models have mostly replaced with new ones.
2. The whole aluminum ingot of forging method is directly extruded on the mold by a thousand ton press, which has the advantages of uniform density, smooth and fine surface, thin and light hub wall, the highest material strength, more than 30% higher than the casting method. However, due to the need for better production equipment, the product rate is only 50-60%, and the manufacturing cost is higher.
3. The low-pressure precision casting method is used in 0.1MPa low-pressure precision casting, which has good formability, clear contour, uniform density and smooth surface. It can not only achieve high strength, light weight, but also control the cost, and the yield is more than 90%. It is the main manufacturing method of high-quality aluminum alloy wheel hub.
